About me...

An introvert, an ISFJ-A, seeks out the darkness, likes to stand on pointy rocks, vegetarian and lover of all animals...

HELLO THERE!

Although I hate talking about myself, heres a little bit more info...

I am Daryl, adventure and wedding photographer based in the North East of England, blessed to call the beautiful Northumberland coastline my home. This is where my love for photography first began and over the past few years, this admiration has taken hold of me, encouraging me to spend more time outside, exploring locally and further afield. Being out amongst the lakes, up in mountains, standing on the edge of the world and sharing adventures with like-minded people, really makes me appreciate life.

Seeking out the light in the wildest of conditions and emphasizing on dramatic and moody photography, it is in these situations where the most striking scenes come to life.

I love the northern climate, so my adventures to the Faroe Islands and Iceland have always been my favorite. Appreciating the colder weather these regions also bring a sense of freedom for me, where mountains reside by the sea! It is where I feel most at home.

Things I love; photography, adventure, hiking, cycling, climbing, coffee, pizza, pizza, pizza (I really do love pizza) Oreos, architecture, Scotland, Faroe Islands, Iceland, and writing. You will always find me in some Dr. Martens and North Face!

Things I loathe; Having no pizza or Oreos!

Whether you are here for adventure or here to capture your own love story, I would love to be there with you.

For now, I only have one motto…

Adventure is out there, let us go find it!

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

01.

Do you travel?

Hell yes, if there is a story to be told I will gladly follow! UK or abroad count me in. I am always down for an adventure.

02.

What is included in your adventure or wedding package?

I shoot continuously throughout the day in a documentary style, this covers 90% of the day with the remaining time left over for some creative portraits of the two of you! After shooting, you receive all of the files in a digital format.

On the day I capture all of the moments, the details, the walk down the aisle, the confetti (if permitted at the location), the speeches, the first dance, the party and all of those in-between moments you might not have known about.

03.

We are awkward in front of the camera! Is that okay?

Of course! I get this question all of the time. Most of my couples tell me this, even if they look really natural in my work.

My job is to make you both feel as comfortable as possible which helps break the barrier of being awkward! My non-negotiable engagement shoot is there to help you two get used to the camera so that on the big day everything seems super chill and natural.

04.

How many photos do we get?

Usually, it is somewhere in the region of 500, although each event is different so this number may vary. All images are edited to my own colouring and style, one at a time. No presets. Each adventure or wedding gets my full attention and love it rightly deserves :)

05.

What cameras do you shoot with?

For all of my stories, I primarily shoot on the Sony mirrorless system with a 35/85mm lens combination. I find this best suits storytelling.

06.

Do you have back up gear?

I do. For Weddings and Commercial jobs, I always have backups on me in case of the dreaded (highly unlikely) gear failure or accidents!

Your images are backed up as soon as I leave the adventure or the wedding day and I am super nerdy about backups. I currently have 6 backups of everything!! :O

07.

Can we see some full galleries?

Of course, have a look on the BLOG for stories or shoot me an email at darylscottwalker@gmail.com and I will gladly send over a full gallery that may be a closer match to your wedding or adventure.

08.

How long will it take to get our images?

At the most usually 12 weeks for full gallery delivery, however I tend to get them to you within 6-8 weeks with a small preview of snippets from the day within 2-3 weeks from the adventure or wedding.

09.

What is officially required to book you and block out our date?

A signed contract and a 30% deposit of the total balance.

10.

What is your pricing and how do we get started?

Pretty simple, the best way is to head over to my contact page and tell me all the details! This way I can send you out a guide to my pricing, adventure or weddings and we can chat through the finer things and what you would want from me for the day.

Honest words from clients

Daryl is simply AMAZING! He is really more than a photographer. On the day itself, we felt in safe hands and it was like having a friend there with you. Daryl’s experience and professionalism shine through, allowing you to relax and enjoy your wedding without worry. We couldn’t be happier with our wedding photos, they are exactly how we imagined and it’s obvious that Daryl listened to what we wanted and went with the theme of the wedding on all the photos, the little details were captured beautifully. Many guests commented on how discrete Daryl was - he worked tremendously hard all day and never stopped. I would wholeheartedly recommend that Daryl capture your big day.

wedding at the lake district mountains

Rydal Water, Lake District

Daryl was the perfect photographer for our wedding on Saturday! He’s calm, friendly and has a great sense of humour, putting both ourselves and guests at ease. During the day, we had lots of comments from people about how professional he was and his open and approachable manner.

Daryl is also very well organised; he contacted and visited the venues in the days before our wedding, so he could scope them out, and managed to find time to fit in a lovely pre-shoot with us, despite the fact we only arrived back in the North East a few days before our wedding there! He also arrived early on the day and stayed much later than we anticipated so he could capture the sun going down with our guests. I can’t recommend him more highly.

summer wedding at tynemouth longsands

Tynemouth Pool, Longsands

We've got our photos and we are totally over the moon. The moments he's captured on film are some we will treasure forever.

We didn't even know he was there most of the time- capturing the best natural photos We've ever seen. Blown away by the volume we have received and at such an amazing price.

Not only did Daryl capture our wedding, but we also had a pre-wedding photo shoot prior so we could all get a feel for each other. Getting our best angles and understanding exactly what we wanted on the big day.

We can not recommend him enough :) xx

South Causey Inn, Stanley

Every guest I have spoken to at our wedding has raved about how kind, considerate, friendly, unimposing and hard-working Daryl was. He was that good I didn't even notice him snapping away; he just blended in and created really natural shots, which is just what we wanted. Daryl was also a bit of calm in a lot of mania with everyone getting ready. The drone was also an amazing surprise. Would 100% recommend!
