Camping out in the wild at the moment is impossible, unless of course, you have an estate as part of your back garden! We, unfortunately, do not have that luxury, so why not bring the outside in?
Both Alpkit and Costwold Outdoor hosted versions of the ‘Camp-in’ event last week and couldn’t resist getting involved. The premise is simple, grab your tent, your sleeping bags, torches etc and create the ideal campsite. This was also a great excuse to give Netflix a rest and get creative!
You can find the campaigns suing the hashtags #BigLivingRoomCampout and #CampingAtHome.
We grabbed everything in the camping cupboard and set up in the flat creating both a day and night scene. As it was easter, there was also some bonus chocolate to be consumed once we had finished the shoot 😛
Creating both ‘Day’ and ‘Night’ scenes was challenging in such a small space. Using props and even the TV helped add atmosphere to really make it feel like we had the best campsite possible.
We had the chance to use the latest head torch from Silva Global. Combined with some atmosphere spray allowed us to capture some misty and colder looking photos. Although not the best environment for testing a head torch, the beam is very bright and has a red light to help protect your night vision. IP rated so its great for both land and water adventures. Grab yours here.
Really enjoyed this camping shoot, getting those creative juices flowing again. Hopefully it won’t be too long before we can camp out on the hills! That is one of the positives of our current situation, once we are free, everything will be appreciated more!
